I’m looking outside my window and I see leaves turning orange. I knew that it was time for the season to change, but I didn’t realize it was happening until I saw the evidence of the colors.
How many times have you tried to get my attention about the need for my own changing season? What “evidence” have you laid in front of me that I simply did not notice?
Lord, forgive me for missing it: Forgive me for missing your notification to adjust the time, to change up my routine, and to redirect my focus. Pardon me for paying more attention to what is happening around me than what You are trying to change within me. I can’t be used by You if I’m not even paying attention to your signals. I now realize that the beauty of this moment will pass me by if I don’t recognize and understand the changes that You require me to make.
Bring me back to focus, God. Teach me how to recognize Your extraordinary voice throughout my ordinary routine. Show me what it looks like to hear Your whisper and to be confident that it’s You.
As the earthly seasons evolve, I’m evolving towards Your promises and Your love. Show me the way, and I will show you my devotion.
