This weekend, I was excited to attend one of my favorite annual events. The Vesta Home Show of Tennessee is an event where home-builders and architects get to showcase the best in design, technology, and architecture. This is only my third year going, but both times, I left feeling even more invested in what’s possible for my future.
“What do you mean?” you ask? Well, allow me to explain.
I am a big believer in having a vision for your life. I think this notion has been fostered through the call for a personal vision from my church leaders and my career. Once I develop my vision and the goals to meet it, I continuously think of ways to become even more inspired. I would best describe it as fueling my own fire!
For me, walking through these homes and imagining myself in them is equivalent to dreaming up a future and imagining the blessings that would follow. It’s less about the material possession and more about the dedication to a dream deferred.
For the reasons above, I say to you: Keep your dreams big and your vision bigger.
So, back to the homes….
This home was probably my favorite! One-third of the house was built as a wing for aging parents and everything in it was handicap-accessible. The host said that the “vision” of the architects was that they wanted their parents to age gracefully and comfortably.
One of the other highlights of this house was the sweet hideaway inside the daughter’s room. Just think of all the imagination that was conjured up in that nook!
Finally, I wanted to show you the backyard. This was only a section of it – the covered patio was off in the distance. I loved the serenity of the back of the house. It was definitely peaceful.
Happy dreaming, everyone!
