From time to time, I like to begin my week with a quote that I believe will carry me through the good and bad of what is to come in the next seven days. I stumbled upon this quote pretty randomly, but haven’t stopped thinking about it since…
I want to be free of the weight of other people’s opinions.
I want to be free of daily burden of doing enough, being enough, and believing enough.
What I really want, though, is to free my own mind of the pressure to let those things enter in and reside.
I’ve come to believe that much of what occurs around me is due in part to what occurs within me. When I make the choice to free my mind of burdens that I usually don’t realize I place on myself, my experiences change – because my attitude changed – and because my thoughts changed.
I invite you to focus on personal freedom with me this week. See where it takes you. Since freedom is a state of being, do everything in your power to make it happen. Turn off the television if you have to. Put your phone on “Do not disturb” if you must. Say “no” to the things that pull you back to that same bondage you’re desperately trying to leave behind.
Whatever you do – Just.Be.Free.
