4 Famous Quotes to Live by This Year

It’s that time of year when most people around the world think of new year’s resolutions to commit to.  One thing that’s been on my heart is the idea of a new year, new you.

I believe that this year will be one that will increase our faith and our hope for a life better than we ever imagined.  Whatever your goals are for 2017, it is possible to achieve them.  Whatever new person you aspire to be (i.e. new character traits, new habits, or healthier living) you can be it!

January is the best time to create a new way of thinking and being.  For our community, I’ve gathered some quotes  to use as mantras for this year.

Part of redefining yourself is to actively think differently.  Use these quotes as affirmations to begin that process.  Recite them daily – on your way to work, at lunch, or even before you go to bed.  You’ll soon see a shift in your positivity and outlook on life.

I don’t have to chase extraordinary moments to find happiness – it’s right in front of me if I’m paying attention and practicing gratitude. (Brene’ Brown)

Practicing gratitude is one of the best ways to change your outlook.  Sometimes, we spend our days waiting for the big moments.  But when we look closely, it’s actually the simpler moments in life that mean the most.  If you can be grateful with the little things, you will surely be given the bigger ones.

The two most powerful warriors are patience and time.  (John Quincy Adams)

Patience and time are greatly underestimated.  It is our natural inclination to want to be the fixer: To take matters into our own hands and do it quickly.  It’s more comfortable that way, but let’s be honest: we’re not always happy with the results.  That’s why it’s in our best interest to wait on God’s timing.  He promises to work everything out as long as we put our trust in Him.  That means to wait patiently, knowing that it will be handled.

Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage. (Lao Tzu)

How often have you been afraid to love others so deeply? Love is one of those feelings we often hold back for fear of rejection or pain.  To love is to be vulnerable, but you know what? It’s one of the most courageous things you can do.  Push yourself to love wholeheartedly this year.  As you do, teach others to love you just as hard without drama.

You can’t put a limit on anything. The more you dream, the farther you get. (Michael Phelps)

I couldn’t help but to add this quote in our bunch.  I’m a big believer in dreaming big.  Be limitless in your imagination because you never know where it can take  you. Even when others doubt you, be invigorated by the dreams of your heart.  If you continue to believe in what’s possible, it will soon become a reality.
